		<description><![CDATA[Hi Bryan, I agree with your opinion but the reality is that far too organizations do this.  Most operate under the expectation that leaders will just know what to do - sink or swim. Far too many of my previous direct reports have moved on (by design) and then reached out to me after to tell me how shocked they are by how bad their new managers are.  They don&#039;t lead, coach or communicate.  They often feel more prepared to lead than their manager.  I too have been surprised by the lack of ability of managers to build leadership into their team.
They seem very good at managing results but have no clue or desire aroundbuilding leaders.

Why do you suppose there is such a lack of leadership in the work place around this?]]></description>
